Describe something you learned in high school.
I learned quite a few skills in high school. First, in art I learned the lost wax process, practiced by ancient peruvian artisans to create their jewelry in gold. The only way I can describe the process is like a miniature foundry whereby you make a wax replica of your desired object, add prongs to it for stabilization and place it in a cylindrical container, so that when you poured moulten silver into the receptacle the wax melted and was supplanted by the precious metal. Once the materials cooled your surprise was ready to be unveiled. What came out needed to be filed down and polished. That is, in a nutshell, something very cool I was given the opportunity to practice in high school. My art teacher, Joyce Martin made this available to her students. Grateful for her initiative and caring.

The art teachers were the best teachers.
